Favorite Story (More meant for the children)

Alone and afraid, deep into the forest I went. Not knowing what was there, but only one thought in my head: find them. No parents at fifteen, not how anyone wants to be. ‘How could they leave’ I ask myself as I go deeper, realizing I had no torch, no lantern to light my way. The trees so thick only small rays of light pierce through to the forest floor.

My cloak wrapped tight around me, the grass rustles as I look behind me, likely some creature seeing an easy snack in a young half-elf who was lost. I turn back, no clear path before me, none behind me. I make my own way into the darkness, the sunlight fading with each step.

I stop, before me nothing but trees. Do I turn back and hope they return home? Will I find my way out from somewhere I’ve never been? The forest edge was my friend. The inside my enemy. ‘Stay away from the deepest parts of the forest, Lia’ I was always told. That it was always dangerous. But did they go here?

Wind slips through the trees, twisting up my cloak, sending a shiver down my spine. Another rustle, accompanied by the sound what seemed to be a growl. My mind made up, I turn back. I don’t wish to be dinner this night! My feet carry my faster and faster, back the way I came. I hear paws behind me, but I don’t look back to see what is following me.

The light increases, but so does the sound of something hungry, the sound getting even closer. I can’t go any faster, but will I make it to the edge of the forest where these creatures dare not roam? I see the land beyond the forest, the safety. I feel the swipe of a claw catch the back of my left as I tumble from the forest. Nothing follows me out, but the back of my leg bleeds. I limp home to tend to my own leg, knowing that they would never have survived the forest, as I barely made it out alive. I hold scars on the back of my leg ((Which are only scratches from a family pet and nothing more)), reminding me that alone in the dark is never the way to venture, especially when young.
Personality Traits I know a story relevant to any situation.

Whenever I come to a new place, I collect local rumors and spread gossip.
Ideals Creativity: The world is in need of new ideas and bold action.
Bonds I idolize a hero of the old tales and measure my deeds against that person's.
Flaws I have trouble keeping my true feelings hidden. My sharp tongue lands me in trouble.

Personal History Music: a passion more than a hobby. Lia Naïlo was born to a human mother and an elf father. In Dryad Wood, she’d always lived, learned, played. Her piercing green eyes followed by her brown hair that held a deep purple natural tinting allowed her to feel unique. Only knowing of her home of Dryad Wood, she dreamt of what was out beyond her home. She writes songs about what might be out there. Writes stories of the adventures she wished to have, placing herself into the middle of the action in each one.

Although her parents left long ago, on a night she will never forget, Lia remained in Dryad Wood, the place she knew. Her stories of the adventures she was in became popular at both the Charming Dryad and Thirsty Dragon, where she was known as a local musician and story teller, especially to children. Many believe she has actually gone on the adventures in her stories, and only she knows different.

She has a home, left behind by her parents, but finds more comfort staying in the inns whenever she performs at them. As she only performs in the evening, her days are spent underneath the shade of a tree that was left by her home. Her stories are written up, and could almost be considered a book. They are hidden inside a hole within the tree, one only she knows about. Though no one is allowed to read them, she tells them in her songs.

Although a Bard, she has remained in Dryad Wood all her 24 years, looking for the chance to leave and expand her knowledge and stories and find more to nature than she experiences here.

Never tall, in any crowd she is able to hide away with her cloak and hood covering nearly her entire body. She can remain hidden when she doesn’t want to be seen, but her voice carries to fill an entire room, and has echoed when performing outdoors on cool evenings.

Lia has been tempted to leave on many occasions, ever since she was a teen, but never had the heart to do so. Returning from school, on what seemed like a typical day, Lia found what would change her life forever. Her parents were gone, nothing left behind but Lia’s personal items, completely out of the blue. Word was that there was trouble that they had come to Dryad Wood to escape, and it had caught up with them after living there for years.

Lia, of course, made her own story about what happened to them, though does not know the truth of why they left. She began to fend for herself at fifteen, allowing the music to guide her, the stories to give her a place where she could hide away and pretend to be whoever she wanted to be.

From the shade of her tree, she watched the new folks coming, with the stories of what was happening outside of Dryad Wood. Her songs and stories were quieter as she listened in each night to what was happening. A month went by, and she was soon including words of her next ‘adventure’, finding out what was causing the issues in the other cities and towns. It wasn’t until word was out from the Town Council that they wanted a party assembled to go out and find out what was happening and if Dryad Wood was in danger that she finally made her choice.

It was time for Lia Naïlo to leave home.
Features and Traits Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can't put you to sleep.

Bardic Inspiration (d6)

Skill Versatility: Deception, Slight of Hand

By Popular Demand: You can always find a place to perform, usually in an inn or tavern but possibly with a circus, at a theater, or even in a noble's court. At such a place, you receive free lodging and food of a modest or comfortable standard (depending on te quality of the establishment), as long as you perform each night. In addition, your performance makes you something of a local figure. When strangers recognize you in a town where you have performed, they typically take a liking to you.
