Personal History | Taral was first daughter to Varitan Moonbrook, who led the government bureaucracy in the city of Hill's Edge on behalf of the Viscount in the nearby capital. Though her mother was simply one of many women accorded to him, Taral was his first child and despite her illegitimacy was made heiress to what few titles he had. Growing up, she was taught everything there was to know about running a government office and was often brought to the Viscount's court. Most in the Court were amused by her desire to use the wealth of the nobility to make things better for the townspeople. Everyone doted upon the young blue-haired Elf, and she made many friends among the nobles. When she was 99, her father was convicted of laundering the Viscount's money in Hill's Edge to give himself a more comfortable life. Varitan was killed, and Taral was stripped of possessions and exiled from the province. She willingly gave up her family name and vowed to make a name for herself, one not tarnished by her father's apparent greed. Eager to return to nobility, Taral spent fifteen years wandering from city to city, trying to get into the good graces of a noble. She came close to giving up hope and momentarily considered marrying a slob of a noble Half-Orc to satisfy her thirst for the finer things of life, until a Warlock taught her about the Archfey. After two years of learning, she officially pledged her loyalty to Titania, Queen of the Summer Court. She does what she can to promote her Queen's interests, help the community, and take advantage of the good life. Taral spent the past six months in the city of Silkenheim, where the local High Elf Queen holds court. She insinuated herself into the court of Countess Alenia Kelphine and eventually became her best friend. Countess Alenia introduced her to Queen Zilyana and her daughter Ilsevel, with whom she remains on good terms. Pushed to leave Silkenheim to continue adventuring on behalf of her patron, Taral has found herself in the town of Dryad Wood.... |

Features and Traits | ELF Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saves against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep. Trance: Elves meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day in place of sleeping. You gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep. WARLOCK: OTHERWORLDLY PATRON At 1st level, you have struck a bargain with an otherworldly being of your choice. Titania, Queen of the Summer Court (Archfey) Fey Presence Starting at 1st level, your patron bestows upon you the ability to project the beguiling and fearsome presence of the fey. As an action, you can cause each creature in a 10-foot cube originating from you to make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. The creatures that fail their saving throws are all charmed or frightened by you (your choice) until the end of your next turn. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. WARLOCK: PACT MAGIC Your arcane research and the magic bestowed on you by your patron have given you facility with spells. Cantrips You know two cantrips of your choice from the warlock spell list. You learn additional warlock cantrips of your choice at higher levels. Spell Slots The Warlock table shows how many spell slots you have. The table also shows what the level of those slots is; all of your spell slots are the same level. To cast one of your warlock spells of 1st level or higher, you must expend a spell slot. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a short or long rest. Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher At 1st level, you know two 1st-level spells of your choice from the warlock spell list. The Spells Known column of the Warlock table shows when you learn more warlock spells of your choice of 1st level or higher. A spell you choose must be of a level no higher than what's shown in the table's Slot Level column for your level. Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the warlock spells you know and replace it with another spell from the warlock spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots. Spellcasting Focus You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your warlock spells. COURTIER Feature: Court Functionary Your knowledge of how bureaucracies function lets you gain access to the records and inner workings of any noble court or government you encounter. You know who the movers and shakers are, whom to go to for the favors you seek, and what the current intrigues of interest in the group are. |
