Welcome to the Dryad Wood!
The year is 2229. Legend tells the tale that this happy town was formed from a dryad who desired her tree to be guarded. She charmed an elf and a human who promised to raise a family here and guard her and her tree throughout the generations. Consequently, this town is filled with half elves, an anomaly compared to the rest of the world. Humans, elves, and half elves frequent the town and live in peace.
Dryad Wood sits between human and elven kingdoms and is a trading town. Lending credence to the legend is the fact that there is no major roads to the town. It sits along the Sylvan Stream, a river that opens up much further south than the town of Dryad Wood. The town itself sits in an enlarged meadow, where the "Dryad's tree," sits on the edge, is worshipped by druids, and forbidden to be touched by mortals. However, nobody has ever spotted this alleged dryad in anyone's memory or story telling since the inception of the town.
In the last couple of months, the town has been swelling with foreigners. They speak of unusual happenings in the world: cities appearing from nowhere, hideous creatures of human and beast blood attacking cities, and wars being fought in the names of Gods that nobody in this world has ever known to exist. Yet, trade goes on and Dryad Wood remains and island in what appears to be a storm in the world. Our heroes will be thrust into this world to save their home and possibly the world.

General News - Status Update - November, 2019 Edition
The following is a news item from the Evil GM.
Normally, I send these out on the first of the month (give or take a few days) to give an overview of everything that happened in the month before and of what our goals are for the upcoming month. Yet, for some reason I have never done that for this sim. That will change, beginning this month. I will address some of that further down.
Heroes
I do not understand how Nova says we have 6 players when there are five, including me. However, this month we lost one player:

We're going to continue improving upon the site to make it attractive and informative for all. I will be having Rachael or Kris or someone create a Wiki for us while I just try to become competent at Nova (Yeah, right!). If you have any thoughts or want to assist, let us know!

We had two posts this month! We need to get better. However, we do seem to be more active, despite the post number. If anyone has ideas, please let me know.
Mission Recap
Our heroes have recently met inside the Charming Dryad and are catching dinner before learning of their mission. The council of Dryad Wood has offered to pay 5 gold for each person for actual news from Melford. In the meantime, the Melford representatives and Taral have an uneasy truce after one Melford representative was fondling a waitress from the Charming Dryad and Taral stabbed him.
Objectives
Investigate Melford and determine the threat of shadow goblins.
Player of the Month
How could we not give the player of the month to our bold and brash Taral for his stabby stabby?
Ideas
